Busy Day
Hello, sorry no pictures! They are all in my camera and I just need to find the time to head downstairs to load them onto our other computer. This one is a very mini laptop and I dont have the space (I assume) for picture storage.
What a day we had of busy activities.
Our morning was filled with a walk to the store and post office and then met up with some friends at the park. Both kids LOVE the park, especially when there are others there too. Sophie runs arounds with her friends and I run around after Alex. He is such a climber! and a sand eater :-(
After lunch Alex had a nap while Sophie did some outside stuff with Chris.
Then it was time to take Alex to his hair appointment. Yes, his first haircut. I debated for weeks on whether I should have it cut. It was curling over his collars and very foofy on the sides. I made the appt. and then almost called back again to cancel. Hard decision to have my baby boys hair cut. Sophie had her first haircut last year and so I didnt have this trouble. She was bald till age two and then it finally slowly started to grow.
So off we went, Sophie, Alex & myself to the hairdresser a few houses away. Sophie enjoyed herself there but Alex screamed during the entire experience. We quickly realized (before the screaming started) that a cape and him sitting in the big chair were not going to work out. So I sat in the chair and held him. I am amazed at how well she cut his hair with all the screaming and head thrashing. Poor guy does not like his locks being trimmed. We were both COMPLETELY covered in hair and he immediatly stopped crying once she stopped. Its not like she was hurting them and it was only scissors (no scary razor). Anyhow, we all survived and he looks adorable although older.
Then home for supper with Daddy before he headed for nightshift. A bit of time to play and then we left for Sophie's first Soccer practice. How utterly adorable the 3-5yr old soccer group is. The ball would be heading their way and they would get distracted by a pretty flower, a feather, a friend's neat hat etc. Of course trying to play teams wasnt exactly working out either - they had no clue which net was 'theirs'. All kids seemed to enjoy themselves though and they all looked completely exhausted heading off the field. Which was our intention for putting Sophie in soccer twice a week - wear her out a bit for bedtime!! Should be a great season.
