Im not normally one to actually 'blog' on our blog as it is quicker to just post pictures from time to time. Since the kids are both currently napping I'll give you a little update on our family life. (Bare in mind that English Class wasnt where I excelled in school)
Alex: He is growing so quickly. He is 3 months next week, probably about 12 1/2 lbs right now and wearing 3m clothes (although some items are 6m but loose fitting). He is a chunky sweet baby with a double chin :-) Chris is proud of his pudgy and 'muscular' little guy.
He seems to smile so easily and especially for Sophie. She loves to read him her version of stories and sing songs like Baa Baa Black Sheep, Twinkle Little Star, and some other little songs we've learned at Toy Library over the last couple years. At times she is a tad aggressive in her affection but it is mostly with good intentions.
For his first month, he would awake for feeding at 11 (ish) and 3 (ish). A few weeks ago it changed to only waking at 2am and then in the last few days he wakes only at 3:30! Yay for sleep! Daytime is not as scheduled but there is a morning and afternoon nap and some little power naps in between.
Sophie: She is such an active, TALKATIVE, and inquisitive little girl. All day long she asks questions such as "What are you doing Mommy?", Are you changing Alex Mommy?, etc. They are almost always questions to something that is very obvious. If you do not reply within a second or two, the question will be repeated over and over and over.
It amazes us the things that she says at times as she has a very large vocabulary and uses very long descriptive sentences. Not all words are said correctly of course as she is only 3. She also loves to talk about her Alexander and all the things that he is going to do when he gets bigger - she's anxiously awaiting for him to be a playmate (maybe then the cat will get a reprieve also)
She has finally started saying her name over the last couple months. Since about 18m, she has called herself "Boppy". Even when she started to say other words that began with 's', she was still Boppy. But in the last few months she is now "Soapy". So that is pretty close, just have to work on the "ph/F" sound. No biggie, at least other people can now understand what her name is.
As you can tell from photos, she loves crafts, books, dolls, animals, and being outside. She is quite girly in some ways but is also always dirty & sticky. She is quite small for her size (wearing size 24m in most things) but makes up for it in personality :-)
In regards to her love of animals, I think she loves them too much. The cat gets many hugs and kisses, some hugs leaning more towards being called headlocks or other wrestling type moves.
US: We are enjoying Summer. We spend our days at the beach or park or toy library. Chris is on shift work and joins us when he can. The day flies by so quickly with playing, snacks, diaper changes, cuddles, chores, and a little "Mommy-time" once in awhile.
Not sure what else to say other than life is great - We have healthy beautiful kids and are enjoying watching them grow and become their own little selves.
